Malik by Ian K. Fowler
This contemporary collection combines new lighting technology with the timeless, refractive properties of solid crystal. In traditional light fixtures, crystal is used to reflect and color the light from nearby bulbs or candles. Malik’s design came about through seeking to use the crystal itself as the apparent source of illumination. Handcrafted, finely cut pillars of crystal or solid alabaster are encased in a modern brass or nickel armature; LEDs are hidden inside the structure of the fixture, glowing through the crystal or stone without showing the source of the light.
