The talented Dallas-based design team of Lisa Martensen and Jan Jones recently used several Circa Lighting fixtures in this gorgeous bathroom they designed.  This unabashedly feminine respite features the beautiful Catherine Wall Sconce, designed by Eric Cohler as well as the bamboo inspired Frank Flush Mount ceiling fixture, designed by Alexa Hampton.  Both fixtures are classic and timeless, yet they lend a sense of whimsy to the space.

Thomas O'Brien: American Modern

posted by: Circa Lighting @ 9:47:55 AM Wednesday, April 21, 2010

{This inspiring nook in O’Brien’s Manhattan apartment features a Terri Cube Lamp in Alabaster.}

Circa Lighting designer, Thomas O’Brien recently released his first book, American Modern and it is wonderful. It chronicles the evolution of modern American design and the way that one can infuse a modern touch into even the most classic, traditional setting.  The book is divided into six sections ranging from Traditional Modern to Urban Modern to Vintage Modern. You may be thinking that these titles sound like oxymoron, but that is where O’Brien manages to surprise the reader.

Inspiring Options for a Beautiful Kitchen

posted by: Circa Lighting @ 10:03:55 AM Tuesday, March 23, 2010

It’s no secret that kitchens benefit as much from beautiful lighting as any other room. More and more, kitchens are becoming gathering places for family and friends and often serve as the nerve center of one’s home. Shouldn’t the room in which you charge your batteries with your morning coffee, recount the day’s events with your children, and lovingly prepare meals for your family feature beautiful lighting? Many of the nation’s top designers turn to Circa Lighting when designing kitchens.

Circa Lighting’s line is filled with classic design elements to withstand the test of time. From urns to balustrade shapes to classic Paris Flea Market chandeliers, the gang’s all here! While I adore many of these classic shapes and elements, I also find it fun and interesting to incorporate patterns into one’s designs. Greek Key and Quatrefoil motifs are enduring and alluring patterns, both of which are available in several designs from Circa. While Greek Key and Quatrefoil are most certainly classic motifs, they add a welcomed sense of whimsy to any room.

Circa Lighting featured in IT'S COMPLICATED

posted by: Circa Lighting @ 2:22:09 PM Wednesday, March 03, 2010

It's Complicated was my favorite movie of the 2009 Holiday Season.
With its all-star cast and Meryl Streep as the driving force, how could they
go wrong?  I found the story to be hilarious and enjoyable, but more than
anything, I fell madly in love with the set design.  The laid-back California
interiors and Santa Barbara setting sent my little heart aflutter.  It seems
like the aesthetic of the movie was perfectly in line with Circa Lighting's
design philosophy, so the movie sets were filled with Circa products,
naturally.
